—the occasion of displacement that occurs as a result of imperial occupation and the experiences associated with this event.

The phenomenon may be a result of transportation from one country to another by slavery or imprisonment, by invasion and settlement, a consequence of willing or unwilling movement from a known to an unknown location.

An example of this would be that many of you may have left "Home" to be here in a new and strange, unknown place and are experiencing a sense of "dislocation."

The feeling of dislocation is tied to feelings of being lost, uncomfortable, uneasy - like finding yourself in a strange place without a MAP.
